A strongly played first half helped the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels pick up a 62-54 win over Duluth Marshall on Tuesday night.

The Rebels pulled out to a 13-point halftime advantage and then held off the Hilltoppers' comeback attempts in the second half.

Joe Bednar was a force for the Rebels with 25 points, Nate Zuk had 11 and Joey Bohaty also was in double-digit scoring with 10 points. Also scoring for the Rebels were Jim Mach and Travis Wagers with seven points each and Taylor Davis with two points.

Leading the Hilltoppers was Doug Frey with 17 points.

Marshall hit eight three-pointers in the game to keep things close while the Rebels managed three baskets from long-range.
