Colleen McKay poured in 31 points and Barnum went on to a 62-52 victory over Cloquet in girls basketball on Friday night.
Ranked No. 5 in the state Class A rankings, the Bombers held a slim 30-28 lead at halftime and then managed to outscore the pesky Jacks by eight in the second half.
McKay was joined in double figures by Katrina Newman with 13 points, Megan Myhre finished with nine, Jessica Benson added six and Brianne Benson scored three points for the Bombers.
Jes Vork led the Jacks with 18 points, Nishah Dupuis added 13, Kami Diver recorded 10, Hannah Roy finished with six and Jill Rosenthal added five points.
"Cloquet has a very good team," said Barnum coach Randy Myhre. "Cloquet is very athletic and it was a very difficult game for us to win."
"It was amazing game both teams played an A style game," stated Cloquet coach Brad Vieths. "I was proud of our team. For a team to be 2-2 and have both those losses come from teams currently ranked in the Top 10 of AP high school polls is okay, but we'd like to win those type of games."
The Bombers hit seven three-pointers in the game to five for Cloquet and overall Barnum made 24 shots from the field to 21 for the Jacks.
Brianne Benson and Megan Myhre had three three-pointers for the Bombers while Vork hit three of the long ranges shots for the Jacks.
