An armed man robbed the Western National Bank at 201 North Central Avenue in Duluth just after 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and then used a taxi cab to make his getaway.
He didn't get far.
Duluth police checked with local cab companies and found one with a cab who fit the description that was headed west to Cloquet.
The cab was eventually apprehended by the Minnesota State Patrol in Esko on Interstate 35 about 15 minutes after the robbery was reported. Officers from several agencies responded and traffic on the interstate was backed up for some time.

A 36-year-old man was arrested in the incident. No one was injured, Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay said.
The Pine Journal generally doesn't name suspects until they have been charged in court.
