Duluth, Minn. (July 20, 2009) - Builders Commonwealth announced today that they will be joining ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for an upcoming build in the first half of August. Builder's Commonwealth was chosen by this popular television program to oversee and implement an intense one-week building of a new home that will change the life of a deserving Northland family. While the final selection of the family will not be made until August 3, five deserving families in the Twin Ports community are being considered to become the recipient for a new Builders Commonwealth home - and a life changing gift.
Builders Commonwealth was largely selected because of the company's base as a group cooperative. They are a worker owned and operated design/build construction cooperative dedicated to providing customers with the highest quality design, craftsmanship and client satisfaction. For over 30 years, Builders Commonwealth has been the Northland's leader in high quality custom design, renovation and commercial and residential construction.
Builders Commonwealth is in need of volunteers from the community to provide their time, support, and resources to help ensure the success of this life-altering project. While the task of building a new home in one week may be daunting, Thad Whitesel, Presidentof Builders Comonwealth, didn't hesitate to commit his team to the task. The Emmy award winning reality program "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," is now in its 6th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It's executive-produced by Anthony Dominici. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The show airs Sundays from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
