Anna Martha Trettel, 86, of Cloquet died Friday, April 20, 2007, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. Anna married Benedict Trettel on June 24, 1939, in Cloquet. She was employed by Diamond Match in Cloquet for 30 years until her retirement. Anna was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benedict Trettel Sr.; a son, Benedict Trettel Jr.; two brothers, Bernard Tillman and Joe Bahen; and a sister, Stella Hattig.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Darrel) Burkstrand of Crystal, Minn.; three grandchildren, Timothy (Teri) Burkstrand, Orion Trettel and Terri (Brent) Simmerman; three great-grandchildren, Samantha and Kaitlyn Simmerman and Paige Burkstrand; four sisters, Donna (Jerry) Baker, Helen Johnson and Bernice Johnson, all of Cloquet, and Josie (Jerry) Hattig of Portland, Ore.
Visitation was held Monday, April 23, from 5-7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. rosary in Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Visitation continued Tuesday, April 24, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet. Burial was in New Calvery Cemetery, Cloquet.
