Look out Superior, the Anderson twins are coming! Samantha and Danielle Anderson, twin sisters from Wrenshall, have verbally committed to play basketball for the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

Both players have been five-year starters for Wrenshall coach Neil Dickenson and both have surpassed the 1,500-point mark for their careers. They are each known for their quickness and playing an up-tempo style of basketball.

She can drive to the basket and pick up fouls on the opposition. She also leads the Wrens in assists, steals, free throw percentage and she has a field goal percentage of 54.5 percent.

Danielle Anderson is also 5-foot-9 and plays a little closer to the hoop. She averages 16.5 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per contest. She is second on the team in steals and has a field goal percentage of 53.7 percent.

The dynamic duo have helped to lead Wrenshall to a fourth-place state ranking in Class A as well as a 21-2 record.

"These two talented young ladies are the exact types of players that we are looking to add here at UW-Superior," said second-year coach Don Mulhern. "They are hardworking on the court and in the classroom. They love the game of basketball and know what it takes to win and be successful in sports and life. We are thrilled to have them as part of our basketball family."

The Andersons are the daughters of Glenn and Laurel Anderson.
