Hebert-Kennedy 3979 VFW Auxiliary is sponsoring Americanism contests to grades K-6 in three categories. They are:
Category I: Kindergarten through second grades - A 12x18 poster of the American flag.
Category II: Third and fourth grades - A 12x18 poster of a patriotic collage showing "Your Favorite Things About America."
Category III: Fifth and sixth grades - An essay of 250 words or less "What Freedom Means to Me."
On the back side of each entry, you must include the student's name, school and teacher's name.

Contest entries are due Nov. 12 to Velda Beck; call (218) 879-5206 for further information. Awards will be presented at each classroom of certificates, cash awards and desk flags.
All first-place winners will be sent to the next level in District 8. All Cloquet schools are invited to participate.
