AlBrook Falcons coach Anderson challenged by low football turnout

Larry Anderson has seen it all during his coaching tenure for the AlBrook football team. This year, Anderson and his coaching staff greeted just 35 freshmen through senior class candidates.

"We'll have to have a good year from our seniors, Eric Napier, Brock Wilton, Brad Bober and Brand DeBock," mentioned Anderson. "We lost John Tondryk, Jeff Gauthier, Kevin Getchell and Josh Spikberg from last year's team."

The Falcons are looking to improve on their 3-5 record from last year, however, and Anderson feels that is definitely a possibility.

"I expect us to be respectable and have a winning record this year," commented Anderson.

Anderson is trying to find ways for the older and the younger players to learn to mesh together to form a team and develop a winning attitude.

"Last year we were 3-5 and lost in the first round of the playoffs," mentioned Anderson. "If the kids develop a winning attitude and play for each other I think we will have a very good team."
