911 issue resolved in Carlton County

Someone using Verizon as their phone provider had trouble reaching 911 Tuesday night.


Verizon cell phones should now be able to call 911 in Carlton County without issues.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Office successfully conducted tests call on a Verizon phone, read a news release from the sheriff's office sent out shortly before noon on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Tuesday night a Verizon cell phone user notified Carlton County dispatch that they had been unable to reach 911 and that they were asked to enter an access code upon calling the emergency number, according to a news release.

Those using other phone providers besides Verizon were able to successfully reach 911 operations. Those experiencing difficulties reaching 911 were asked to call 218-384-4185 or 218-384-3632.
