Another case of coronavirus was confirmed in St. Louis County on Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 16, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

Statewide, 986 people have tested positive out of the 28,128 tests completed as of 4 p.m. Sunday. Thirty people have died in the state, with no deaths reported in St. Louis County, according to the health department

A case was reported and confirmed Sunday at long-term care facility St. Ann's Residence in the Central Hillside neighborhood. The resident experienced symptoms following an unrelated medical appointment, which prompted a test that came back positive Friday. The resident was hospitalized, according to reporting from WDIO-TV and the Associated Press.

But only Superior View Apartments is listed on the Minnesota Department of Health website as having had a COVID-19 "outbreak," which means even one resident or staff member has tested positive for the virus.

Nine inmates at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Moose Lake have tested positive, an increase of two cases from Saturday.

Forum News Service reported Friday that seven inmates had tested positive, with another 13 presumed to be positive.

To date, 10 cases have been reported in Carlton County, two in Itasca County and none in Cook or Lake counties. No deaths have been reported in any of those counties.

Of the 986 Minnesotans who have tested positive for the virus, 470 no longer need to be isolated, according to the MDH summary. The median age of those diagnosed with it in Minnesota is 50, with a range of from 4 months to 104 years. The median age of those who have died is 84, with a range of from 58 to 100. Based on the MDH summary the 104-year-old was never hospitalized.

Minnesota COVID-19 victims are split almost evenly between females and males, according to MDH.
