Volunteers are needed for the Postal Food Drive on Saturday May 12.
The Post Office Food Drive is the largest food drive for the Cloquet Salvation Army, bringing in approximately 12,000 pounds of food every year to feed the hungry in Carlton County.
Volunteers are needed all day to perform the following jobs:
- drivers to follow postmen's vehicles (approximately seven cars);
- walkers to pick up food in mail boxes or doorsteps and load into volunteer cars (approximately seven people);
- people to unload the food at the post office;
- people to weigh the food at the post office;
- people to sort the food at the post office; and
- people to transport food and stock the shelves at the Salvation Army.
Anywhere from 5-15 people are needed throughout the day to help with the jobs at the post office.
