Here's a sample of recession-driven menus and
specials in varying price ranges:
723-0075: A $5 "recession lunch" is available on Wednesdays. In the winter it was a casserole dish, and in warmer months it's a salad lunch with fruit and bread.
"We wanted to give people a break," co-owner Marcie Stoyke said. "It's hard times out there; we want to feed them some good comfort food."
"Employees don't get a
discount on it but it's a hit, even with us," manager Erik Horvik said.
"People seem to be staying away from four-course meals," said Curtis LaBreche, sous chef.
"Seventy-five percent of our customers are ordering the drink and lunch specials," manager Ken Koeglar said.
729-5399: A daily menu of sandwiches and wraps with chips for $6.99.
