ORDINANCE REGULATING THE TOWN'S WATER SYSTEM
On June 16, 2021, the Town Board adopted Ordinance No. 2021-01 regarding the regulation of the Town's water system. The ordinance implements numerous rules, regulations, and procedures related to the Town's water system, which is currently in the process of being constructed and which will provide treated water to Town residents. The specific rules and regulations contained in the ordinance relate to required connections to the Town's water system, timelines for connecting, procedures for connecting and using the system, the establishment of fees and charges associated with such use, availability, and connections, procedures for new connections, disconnections or modifications to connections, billing and payment requirements for water users, collection of delinquent accounts, shut-off procedures, water meter requirements, and prescribed penalties for violations of the ordinance. A copy of the full ordinance is in the Carlton Area Public Library, the Carlton County Law Library, and the Town Clerk's office during regular business hours.
