CARLTON COUNTY,
MINNESOTA
Ordinance 2020-01

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING
INFLOW AND INFILTRATION INTO THE TOWN'S WASTEWATER SYSTEM

The Town Board adopted Ordinance No. 2020-01 to prohibit the inflow and infiltration of clear water into its wastewater system from those properties within the Town connected to the system. The restrictions and requirements are adopted to comply with those imposed on the Town as a WLSSD municipal customer. The ordinance requires, with certain exemptions, a property owner to obtain a certificate of compliance related to floor drains, sump pumps, and the service lateral connecting the property to the system in certain cases, including when a property is sold. The ordinance sets out the requirements associated with the inspection required to obtain a certificate of compliance and imposes penalties for failure to comply. A copy of the full ordinance is at Carlton City Hall and is available by contacting the Town Clerk.
