The Board of Education of Independent School District 93, Carlton, Minnesota, met through interactive technology and remotely on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Emerson called the meeting to order at 7:13 p.m. The meeting continued with the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present: Emerson, Hagenah, Karp, Szymczak, with Superintendent Engstrom. Members Absent: Gustafson, Ojibway (joined at 7:31 p.m.)
MOTION by Hagenah to approve the meeting agenda was supported by Szymczak. A roll call vote was called: Emerson-yea, Hagenah-yea, Karp-yea, Szymczak-yea. MOTION passed 4-0.
A student council report was given by Jayna LeBrasseur.
No public comments were taken.
Congratulations and Commendations were given.
Reports were given by PK-12 Principal Benjamin Midge, Community Education Director Daisy Rose, American Indian Education Coordinator Kevin Kot, Business Manager Norman Nelis, Superintendent John Engstrom.
Board Committee Reports were given.
MOTION by Hagenah to approve the Consent Agenda*
Approve January payroll for a total of $346,675.84 and wires summative at $105,780.88. Approve the January finance checks in the amount of $231,113.90.
Approve the Minutes, January 19, 2021 Regular School Board Meeting Minutes. Approve the Minutes, February 8, 2021 Committee of the Whole Work Meeting Minutes.

MOTION by Szymczak to approve the 2021-2022 Tentative School Calendar was supported by Hagenah. A roll call vote was called: Emerson-yea, Hagenah-yea, Karp-yea, Ojibway-yea, Szymczak-yea. MOTION passed 5-0.
MOTION by Ojibway to approve the 2021-2022 Superintendent Contract was supported by Hagenah.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5.0.
MOTION by Karp to approve the resignation of Brittny Hillstrom as Junior High Track Coach effective February 10, 2021 was supported by Szymczak.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.
MOTION by Karp to approve the hire of Lexie McFadden as Bulldog Kids Care High School Student Aide at $8.21/hour for approximately 10 hours per week effective January 19, 2021 through June 4, 2021 was supported by Szymczak.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.
MOTION by Karp to approve the hire of Olivia Rice as Bulldog Kids Care High School Student Aide at $8.21/hour for approximately 10 hours per week effective January 27, 2021 through June 4, 2021 was supported by Hagenah.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.
MOTION by Hagenah to approve the hire of Kaleb Schwalbe as Substitute Paraprofessional effective February 5, 2021 was supported by Karp.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.
MOTION by Hagenah to approve the hire of Danielle Dupuis as Substitute Teacher effective February 8, 2021 was supported by Szymczak.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.

Hagenah made a motion to adjourn at 8:32 p.m. and there being no further business with a second from Szymczak the meeting adjourned by unanimous affirmative vote.*
