The Board of Education of Independent School District 93, Carlton, Minnesota, met through interactive technology and remotely via Zoom on Monday, May 17, 2021. Emerson called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. The meeting continued with the Pledge of Allegiance. Members present: Emerson, Gustafson, Hagenah, Karp, Szymczak, with Superintendent Engstrom. Member Absent: Ojibway
MOTION by Gustafson to approve the meeting agenda was supported by Szymczak.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.
Carlton High School Student Presentation
YES Team: Compositing Plan Update was given.
LIEC Representatives Deb Northrup Chair and Jennifer Murray Vice Chair, Presenting their Annual Compliance – was cancelled and will be given at another Board meeting.
No public comments were taken.
Congratulations and Commendations were given.
Reports were given by PK-12 Principal Benjamin Midge, Community Education Director Daisy Rose, American Indian Education Coordinator Kevin Kot, Business Manager Norman Nelis, Superintendent John Engstrom.
Board Committee Reports were given.
MOTION by Hagenah to approve the Consent Agenda*
Approve April payroll for a total of $349,924.42 and wires summative at $109,262.94.
Approve the April finance checks in the amount of $182,384.80.
Approve the Minutes, April 19, 2021 School Board Meeting.
Approve the Minutes, May 10, 2021 Committee of the Whole Meeting.
Approve the call for quotes to furnish bakery products, dairy products, transportation/fuel, and garbage services for the 2021-2022 school year with the suggested bid closing date of June 21, 2021.
MOTION was supported by Karp. MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.

MOTION by Szymczak to post for a Literacy Specialist was supported by Hagenah.* MOTION passes with an affirmative vote of 5-0.
Hagenah made a motion to adjourn at 8:37 p.m. and there being no further business with a second from Szymczak the meeting adjourned by unanimous affirmative vote.*
