Local PBS affiliate WDSE-WRPT launched “At Home Learning,” a program meant to complement distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tune in from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on PBS North Channel 8.1. for content tailored to grades 6-12.

There are complementary guides and worksheets at pbslearningmedia.org, where you can search by grade or subject. Along with topics like social studies and math, there are online videos and guides for older students on world languages, professional development, engineering and technology.

"At Home Learning" will air on Channel 8.1 between regularly scheduled kids programming, which runs 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Also for younger viewers, there’s all-day programming at PBS Kids Channel 8.5 and the free PBS Kids app, available on all smart devices.

“During this extraordinary and complex time, WDSE-WRPT is responding to the needs of children and adults alike,” general manager Patty Mester said in a news release.

PBS affiliates in Wisconsin are also offering "At Home Learning" programming.
