COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 13, 2014
The Wrenshall Board of Education's Committee of the Whole meeting was held in joint session with the Carlton Board of Education in the Wrenshall School Commons on August 13, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
Wrenshall Superintendent Belcastro introduced members present and reviewed the objectives of the joint meeting. The goal of the meeting was to determine if the Carlton and Wrenshall School Boards are interested in studying the possibility of more joint collaboration or even full consolidation of the two districts.
Carlton Superintendent Haapala reviewed the Minnesota Department of Education's terms and conditions regarding school district consolidation.
Ms. Cathy Erickson, School Finance Specialist from Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium was present to provide handouts summarizing the financial histories and enrollment trends of the two school districts.

Mr. Mike Hoheisel, School Finance Consultant from Robert W. Baird and Company was present to discuss revenue options and provide a recommended timeline for consolidation.
Each board will have the opportunity to vote on a resolution to further explore consolidation at their next respective regular board meetings.
