As the holiday season was building to its climax last week, some members of the Cloquet community took the opportunity to help those less fortunate.

The staff and families of the Cloquet RE/MAX real estate agency showed up with gifts and support for a family struggling this Christmas season as part of the Best Christmas Ever movement.

The BCE movement began in 2011 to help give a couple of Minnesota families in need a Christmas celebration they otherwise couldn't afford. The goal is to raise $5,000 in gifts and support for each family with the hope of making a lasting impact on their lives.

What’s more, RE/MAX was able to secure a new place to live for a single mother and her family after they experienced homelessness earlier in 2020.

Chelsea Stahlbusch, the RE/MAX team captain, said her team raised more than $6,000, with the mother and each of her three children received 15 gifts each.

At least two other teams in Carlton County supported families during the holiday season.
