Award-winning science teacher Larry Weber will discuss more than 40 species of spiders and their webs at the free Carlton County Community Connect Class. There will also be a drawing for signed copies of Larry's book, "Web Watchers." Other editions of his books will be available for purchase. Bethany Holiday Bazaar, Bethany Lutheran Church, Cromwell. Browse and Buy, 9 a.m., auction starts at 10 a.m. The event features crafts, white elephant items and baked goods. All proceeds go toward church missions. Donations are also welcome.

COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11, 4:15-6:15 p.m., Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet. CMH will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11. The clinic will be held in the ground floor of the hospital. To schedule an appointment, call 218-879-1271.

Story Book Walk, Barnum High School Nature Center. Barnum Community Education hosts the walk, where participants can walk the trail at the nature center and enjoy a story. The October walk will run from Nov. 24-29 and features the book “Caps for Sale” by Esphyr Slobodkina.

Carlton County has partnered with the Centre for Public Impact to learn more about how government can support rural residents. The county is looking for 25 community members to share their expertise. They will be compensated with a $25 gift card from the Centre for Public Impact. Any community member living in rural areas of Carlton County such as Holyoke, Barnum, Cromwell, Wrenshall, Kettle River, etc., are welcome to join. Registration is required. Tech & Coffee, 9-11 a.m., Chickadee Coffeehouse & Deli, Barnum. Barnum Community Education hosts the free event. Community members can drop in to get help with their cell phones, e-readers, tablets, laptops, social media platforms and more. Community education staff and Nathan Rimolde from RTS will be on hand to answer questions.

Free Chili Feed, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Our Redeemer Church, 515 Skyline Blvd., Cloquet. The Cloquet and Fond du Lac police departments sponsor the free meal event as part of Santa's Home for the Holidays.

Library Open House, 4-6 p.m., Cloquet Public Library. Enjoy holiday crafts for all ages and refreshments. Story time with Santa is at 5 p.m.

West End Open House, 4-6 p.m., Cloquet's Historic West End. Stroll through Cloquet's Historic West End and enjoy open house festivities at local businesses.

Friday, Dec. 3

Photos with Santa and Dinner, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Queen of Peace, 102 4th St., Cloquet. A spaghetti dinner will be served. The cost is $10 for everyone age 13 and older, $5 for children ages 3-12. Photos with Santa by Alan Johnson Photography are included with the purchase of a meal. The event also includes a holiday shop and Christmas crafts.

Saturday, Dec. 4

Pancake Breakfast, 8-10:30 a.m., Churchill Elementary School, 515 Granite St., Cloquet. Boy Scout Troop #171 sponsors the pancake breakfast. The cost is $5 for people age 13 and older, $3 for children ages 3-12. Please enter on Arthur Street.

Holiday Expo Craft Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Churchill Elementary School. Entry from 9-11 a.m. is $5 per person, and free from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes entertainment and craft vendors.

Wood City Motors Holiday Event, 1-4 p.m., Wood City Motors, 701 Washington Ave., Cloquet. The event features a magic show, holiday hayrides and live reindeer sponsored by MCCU.

Fire Rings and S'mores, 4 p.m., Cloquet Area Fire District Station 1, 508 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet. The Cloquet Educational Foundation sponsors the event featuring fire pits and s'mores. Entertainment includes madrigals and Christmas carols. Hot chocolate will also be served.

Santa's Home for the Holidays Parade and Fireworks, 5 p.m. The parade will travel downtown on Cloquet Avenue. Line up for the parade starts at 4 p.m. Fireworks will start immediately following the parade.

Tuesday, Dec. 7

Digital Wellness for Teens, Tweens and Caregivers, 6-7:30 p.m., Cloquet Public Library. The Carlton County Youth Collaborative will discuss digital wellness. Caregivers can attend with their child or come alone. A light meal will be served and child care will be provided for younger siblings or family members.

Medicare Fraud Awareness and Prevention classes, 10-11:30 a.m. or 2-3:30 p.m., virtual. The Senior LinkAge Line will offer the courses to help people learn about detecting, preventing and reporting Medicare fraud; avoiding potential COVID-19 fraud and scams; as well as other scams targeting older adults. Attendees will also learn how to read and understand their Medicare Summary Notices and other Medicare-related documents. The class is held online through the Microsoft Teams meeting platform.
