Crowds of people turned out for Carlton’s annual Winterfest celebration Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Four Seasons Sports Complex.

Outside, crowds tried their hand at 10 holes of Mini Hook-and-Slice, a golf-like game played with tennis balls and “clubs” like tennis rackets, hockey sticks, croquet mallets and even a small trebuchet built by Carlton High School physics students.

Inside the Four Seasons, people took advantage of open skating, a chili cook-off and checked out some animals from Lake Superior Zoo’s Zoomobile.

The day culminated when more than 500 people filled the Carlton High School gym for bingo with the Carlton Volunteer Fire Department.
