Carlton County kids converged on the Cloquet Public Library Thursday, Dec. 12, for an unusual event.

The children brought their favorite stuffed animals to listen to stories by Santa and make a Christmas tree craft. Instead of taking their inanimate buddies home, the kids kissed the stuffed animals good night and left them there for a sleepover.

During the night, the stuffed animals read a few books, played games like hide and seek in the book drop, made some photo copies, had some snacks and brushed their teeth.

When the children returned in the morning, each received a booklet of their friends’ adventures during the night.

The stuffed animal sleepover is one of a long list of kid-focused events at the Cloquet library.
