Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton is offering a free program for preschool-age kids, "Lil' Peeps — Bird Explorers," on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Participants will read stories, sing songs and take part in nature activities. Depending on weather conditions, the group will head outside to check out who's at the feeders and to feed the birds, so bring appropriate clothing.
The program meets at the River Inn Interpretive Center. The program is free, but a Minnesota State Park Vehicle Permit is needed to enter the park. They can be purchased upon arrival for $7 per day or $35 for an annual permit.
