Duluth and Cloquet’s Sober Squad is hosting its second annual Sober Fest on Saturday, Aug. 10, to celebrate recovery.

The event includes food, games, speakers and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Fond du Lac Tribal Center, 1720 Big Lake Road, Cloquet. The first 200 attendees get a free Sober Squad T-shirt.

Natalie Smith of the Sober Squad urges anyone to attend, including people in recovery, those not in recovery, people looking for recovery and everyone in between.

“We’re hosting this event to show people that recovery is possible,” Smith said. “I think it’s important for our community to see that there are people in recovery. It’s important to see a community come together and show support for each other.”

Carl White of Red Lake and Tashya Swenson of Mille Lacs will speak about recovery and their own journeys. Attendees can join a game of kickball, bean bag toss and more, while bounce houses will be available for kids. Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton will provide catering and Jim Sterzinger will DJ the event.
