CLOQUET — The County Seat Theater Company has added Londos D’Arrigo’s comedy "Spreading It Around" to its repertoire.

The show comes from the hard-hitting comedy writer for Phyllis Diller, Lily Tomlin and Joan Rivers.

Angela Drayton (played by Deborah Weckert), a wealthy widow living in an upscale retirement community, is tired of handing out money to her unappreciative children. So she starts the “S.I.N. (Spending It Now) Foundation,” to give to those truly in need. This terrifies her greedy son (portrayed by Jesse Davis), driving him to devise a plan to have her committed.

The family comedy has played numerous theaters in the U.S. and Canada.

The County Seat Theater Company will present live performances at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, Saturday, Sept. 24, Thursday, Sept. 29, and Sept. 30; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 at the Encore Performing Arts Center in Cloquet. This show will not be available on demand.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
