Community Education Corner: Fall programs launch in Barnum

Welcome back to school staff and students in Pre-K through grade 12 here at Barnum Community Education! We had a crazy busy summer with programming, but are very excited for our upcoming classes this fall.

55 Alive Driver Discount Class will be held on Oct 11 from 5-9 p.m., with a cost of $27. It is a state-approved accident prevention/insurance discount course. Pre-registration is required.

ATV Safety Field Day sponsored by the Carlton County Riders will be held at the Barnum Fire Hall on Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. There is no cost to participate, but you have to complete the online DNR ATV Safety Course prior to field day.

Back by popular demand: Yoga with Suzy will be held Wednesday nights from 5:30-6:15 p.m. in the High School Media Center. For an extra few bucks, add another 30 minutes for Yoga Power Add-on from 6:20-6:50 p.m.! The class starts Wednesday, Sept. 21.


Zumba those pounds away! Zumba starts Monday, Sept. 19 from 5:45-6:35 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria!

We’ve also added Bloody Marys and Yoga Sundays on Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 at the Barnum Community Center. Come do yoga for 45 minutes, then get $1 off your Bloody Mary or beverage of choice!

Sheila is back with board painting classes again! These classes are always a hit. Make one for yourself or as a gift! Perfect timing for the upcoming holidays. Classes are held in the Community Ed Office at the high school from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 13.
