Tech & Coffee, 9-11 a.m., Chickadee Coffeehouse, 3691 Alan Syverson Dr., Barnum. Barnum Community Education will host Tech & Coffee. Participants can learn how to use their cell phones, Nooks, Kindles, iPads, Laptops, social media and more. There is no need to register. Drop in anytime during the session for help. Meet the Trees, 11-11:30 a.m., Jay Cooke State Park. Participants will get to know the trees on a family-friendly scavenger hunt. Capacity is limited and there is no advance registration. Park officials urge those who wish to attend to arrive early. While the event is free, a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit is required. Permits can be purchased at the park office upon arrival. The cost is $7 for the day or $35 for a year.

A Mindful Bicycle Ride, 9-11 a.m., Jay Cooke State Park. Join the state park naturalist on a mindfulness-based observation bike ride. Participants will calm their minds along the trail, focus on their surroundings and learn about the flora and fauna. Attendees will need to bring their own bike and helmet. Registration is required. Black Bears of Minnesota Campfire program, 8-8:30 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park. Participants will learn about the Minnesota black bear and how to make their outdoor activities more “bearable.” The program will be held at the amphitheater behind the park office. Bench seating is available, but attendees may bring a blanket or camp chair for comfort or social distancing. While the event is free, a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit is required. Permits can be purchased at the park office upon arrival. The cost is $7 for the day or $35 for a year.

Geology walk, 1-1:30 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park. The tilted rocks by the river have caused people to wonder and marvel at them for centuries. On this short geology walk near the river, participants will discover what powerful forces form the past shaped these tilted rocks. Bugs and Blooms Pollinator Walk, 4-4:30 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park. Participants will take a half-mile walk around the park visitor center grounds to discover the pollinators that make the park’s beautiful blooms possible. Participants are asked to meet at the amphitheater behind the park office. While the event is free, a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit is required. 10th Annual Kaleb Anderson Glow Run/Walk, Cromwell Park Pavilion. Check-in 7 p.m.; run 8:45 p.m.; fireworks 9:45 p.m. Wear a glow-in-the-dark outfit. Glow sticks, music, face painting, hot dogs, cotton candy and pulled-pork sandwiches. Cost $25 for age 11 and older; $15 for age 10 and under. T-shirts included with preregistration. Cloquet Sawdust 5K and Lavonna Prevost 1 Miler, 8 a.m. Pinehurst Park. Bib pickup starts at 6:30 a.m. The loop course starts at the park, travels through the neighborhoods of West Cloquet and finishes at the park. Awards go to the top three overall male and female winners and age division winners. Presented by the Milltown Miler's Running Club. The Nesting Place, 1-2 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, via Microsoft Teams. Free support group for new moms with infants up to 1 year old and anyone in their third trimester of pregnancy. It doesn't matter where you delivered your baby. Medicare Fraud Awareness and Prevention classes, online, 10-11:30 a.m. and 2-3:30 p.m. Senior LinkAge Line is offering two classes for those interested in learning about detecting, preventing and reporting Medicare fraud; avoiding potential COVID-19 fraud and scams; and other scams targeting older adults. Christmas in July Carnival & Rummage Sale, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Reliable Insurance Agency, 803 Carlton Ave., Cloquet. Reliable Insurance Agency is hosting the event to raise money for the Best Christmas Ever program. It features a rummage sale, craft vendors, carnival games, face painting, refreshments and a dunk tank. Attendees will also get the chance to have their photo taken with Santa.
