Why are the Rocks Tilted? Geology Walk, 10:30-11 a.m., Jay Cooke State Park, meet at the River Inn Interpretive Center. The tilted rocks by the river have caused people to wonder and marvel at them for centuries. Join park staff on a short geology walk near the river and discover what powerful forces of the past shaped the tilted rocks. The walk is ¼ mile on a level, grassy surface. Campfire Program–Black Bears of MN, 8-8:30 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park, meet at the amphitheater behind the park office. Attendees can discover the world of the Minnesota black bear and how to make their outdoor adventures more bearable. The program will have bench seating, but those who attend can bring a blanket or camp chair for comfort or social distancing.

Lady’s Slipper Walk, 10:30 a.m. to noon, Jay Cooke State Park, meet at the River Inn Interpretive Center. This 2-mile moderate hike across the St. Louis River will lead to a scenic hillside of yellow lady’s slipper flowers.
Discovery Table–Geology Rocks! 1-3 p.m., Jay Cooke State Park, set up in front of the River Inn Interpretive Center. People interested can stop by anytime during the two-hour window to hear mini-talks about the rocks of the park. Attendees will learn about the stories left in stone that trace the natural and historical events that happened here.

Birdsong Walk, 8-9:30 a.m., Jay Cooke State Park, meet at the Visitor Center parking lot. Join the naturalist to see who’s flying through the park. The walk will be along a 1½ mile paved trail and is great for beginning birders. Binoculars will be provided.

Cloquet American Legion Auxiliary Burger and Coney Fundraiser, 4-7 p.m., Cloquet VFW, 210 Arch St. The fundraiser will be held in the Cloquet VFW parking lot. The cost is $10 for a burger with fries, $9 for a burger only, $7 for a coney with fries and $4 for fries. Dessert is included with the purchase of a burger or a coney. All proceeds will support the organization's local programs for veterans.
