The 2nd Annual Carlton County Community Bike Ride is June 9 at any of the four rest stops on the Munger Trail: the Department of Natural Resources parking lot in Barnum, Moose Lake Train Depot, TJ's Country Corner in Mahtowa and the Munger Trail parking lot in Barnum.

The free event, organized by Carlton County and the Carlton County United Way, features food, activities for all ages, live music and water at all four stops.

"The Community Bike Ride is geared toward inspiring physical fitness and wellness while showcasing the county's 27-mile section of the beautiful Munger Trail," according to a news release from Carlton County. "The ride also encourages community and family togetherness by being open and accessible to bikers of all ages."

Two bands will perform during the event. The Langerstons, a teen four-piece act that includes sibling pairs Josie and Audrey Langhorst and Amri and Eli Gilbertson, will be perform at TJ's Country Corner. The other group, Duluth-based Port City Limit - formerly known as Joe Camel and the Marlboro Men - features Nick Stenstrup on guitar, Kaleb Montgomery on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, John Zmyslony on bass and Marty White on drums.

Water and granola bars will be provided to all participants at each rest stop. Yevette Maijala and The Magnolia Café will be serving food and beverages at the DNR pavilion and TJ's Country Corner will be serving brats.
