Carlton County Extension hired Tarah Young as the new Carlton County Extension Agriculture Educator.
Young grew up on a family farm in Buffalo, Minnesota, raising Hereford beef cattle and alfalfa, according to a news release. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University with degrees in agronomy and agribusiness management.
Young interned with a local cooperative and also with a large agricultural company where she developed a passion for helping producers. She has extensive experience in crop scouting, building customer and co-worker relationships and in supervising agronomic research.
“I have a passion for helping producers manage their crops, even in the most trying of times. I look forward to serving the people of Carlton County through my efforts with University of Minnesota Extension,” said Young.
