The Carlton County Board of Commissioners has approved $70,000 in gap financing to help bring a candy warehouse to the area.

Wright residents Jon and Ashley Parrott, together with Sweetly Kismet LLC, Olive Juice Properties LLC and Minnesota’s Candy Warehouse LLC, requested financing for the construction and startup of Sweetly Kismet.

The business will be located on 13 acres of land behind Kwik Trip on state Highway 210 in Twin Lakes Township.

The entire project will cost $996,000. The Parrotts have invested $109,550 and secured $817,250 from Frandsen Bank and the Small Business Administration.

The candy store should be complete by April and employ about 10 people.

Carton County Economic Development voted 6-0 on Dec. 18 to recommend approval of the loan. The county board unanimously approved the request Monday, Dec. 23.
