The Cloquet Goodwill location will close Saturday, Dec. 22. It has been serving Carlton County for nearly 30 years.
"Cloquet is one of the longest living stores," Goodwill Communications Manager Scott Vezina said.
All 11 employees are being offered employment opportunities at other locations in the Duluth area.
Moving forward, donations of household items from the Cloquet and surrounding community will be accepted at other Goodwill Industries stores in Duluth, Hermantown and Superior.
"Although there are no immediate plans to open another Goodwill store in the Cloquet area, Goodwill will continue to explore the possibility of this in the future," President and CEO Marcy Vogt said.
Vezina acknowledged that some people may not be able to make the drive to drop off donations to one of the Duluth locations. He said the board is considering the possibility of setting up donation bins around the Cloquet area.
In 2016-17, Goodwill kept 412,000 pounds of books, 308,000 pounds of scrap metal, 141,000 of shoes and 2.5 million pounds of textiles out of local landfills by recycling.
The Cloquet Goodwill's hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday starting Monday Dec. 10.
