Award-winning Cloquet campground is now a KOA Journey
The Cloquet/Duluth KOA is now a KOA Journey, one of three descriptive brands created to help campers select the right campground for their camping needs.
"This is our 20th year in business," said Barbara Higton, who owns the campground with her husband, Bill, and her mother-in-law, Linde. "The campground is 20 acres, but only 12 acres are developed. That leaves lots of grassy area for activities and sports."
KOA Journey campgrounds are conveniently located near the highways and byways of North America, and are waiting for campers after a long day on the road. KOA Journeys offer long pull-through RV Sites that help make setup fast and easy, have well-lit after-hours check-in service, and offer a robust line of RV supplies.
The Cloquet/Duluth KOA Journey offers roomy pull-through and back-in RV sites with up to 50-amp service and either full or partial hookups.
"Two of the sites have shelters, and we'll be adding more patio RV sites soon," said Higton. Guests can also choose a stay in a one- or two-room camping cabin, and tent sites are also available. The Cloquet/Duluth KOA Journey features a pool, hot tub and sauna as well as bike rentals. A fenced dog park is also perfect for four-legged camping guests.
The Cloquet/Duluth KOA Journey is one of 500 open-to-the-public KOA campgrounds in the Kampgrounds of America system in the U.S. and Canada. Other new KOA brands include KOA Holidays, which serve as great base camps with lots of activities; and KOA Resorts, which include an abundance of activities led by dedicated recreation staff, on-site food service, group meeting space and much more.
Located at 1381 Kampground Road, the Cloquet/Duluth KOA Journey is open May 1 through Oct. 14. It received the 2017 President's and Founder's Awards for achieving world class service scores and meeting exceptional quality standards.
