Blast near major U.S. air base kills 14

At least 14 people including four Czech soldiers were killed in the explosion triggered by a suicide bomber on a bike. A team of Afghan and international forces were in the area to investigate a rocket attack that happened two days earlier. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack in a text message to Reuters. The blast is just the latest sign of deteriorating security in Afghanistan as international forces prepare to leave after 12 years of war with Taliban insurgents.
