Why talk when you can type? Typing is so much faster. Communicating via text message or email is only the tip of the usefulness iceberg. I have a compass at my beck and call. Compasses are valuable tools for people who get lost easily. This describes me to a tee. I may not have an internal compass, but my phone does. I can hardly remember how I survived, life before compass.
Suddenly my bathroom mirror was lacking. It looked naked. Definitely in need of a frame. I picked a fairly simple concept consisting of four wooden planks to flank the edges of the glass. When it comes to home projects, I excel at planning. My husband helps with execution. It was time to reel him in.
Last summer, the herb grew from tiny to medium and produced a few stems for us to pick. The cats loved each offering. Come winter, I expected that would be the end of it. This spring, however, the plant sprouted anew.
Normal means setting the alarm clock. Making the bed. Brewing your own coffee in the morning and cooking your own breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I'd help the environment while whipping myself into shape. I'd save on wear and tear to my car. And, I'd set a good example for my kids by walking the walk and talking the talk (or pedaling the pedal as the case may be). I was surprised I hadn't thought of the grand plan before.
National Friendship Day is Aug. 6, but in my opinion every day should be a day to celebrate friends and the different types of friendships we have in our lives.
