New Life Community Church agreed to provide the site and Lakeview Christian Academy said they would operate the school under its umbrella, if the permit was approved.
“All of the money here tonight is dedicated to student scholarships,” said FDLTCC president Larry Anderson. “This could make a difference in somebody’s life. The scholarship could be the one thing that helps a student stay in school, whether it's a battery for the car or gas money to get here, whatever.”

The Cloquet Planning Commission voted to recommend the city grant requests by SKB Environmental Cloquet Landfill, Inc. — aka Shamrock industrial landfill — for longer opening hours and a higher cap for paper sludge, which contributes to the creation of methane gas at higher levels. The proposal is scheduled to be discussed at the council’s 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday, Feb. 7. It is not a public hearing, although residents are always encouraged to attend council meetings. However, Moose Lake school logo colors are blue and brown, and so there is a wide blue stripe towards the top of the light tan walls and dark brown geometric-looking designs painted from ceiling to floor on two of the walls. Rick Stowell resigned his position and Amy Louhela said she would like to be reappointed to her position, since her term expired. The council voted to require Louhela to also interview for her position. The council has received several applications and will accept new ones until the interviews during the work sessions of Jan. 17 and Feb. 7.
