London, 2012 introduced swimmer Missy Franklin, who won five gold medals. Then we fell in love with smiling Gabby Douglas, women’s all-around gold medal gymnast. Michael Phelps won four more gold medals, becoming the most decorated Olympian in history.
. If you aren't sure a plant is an invasive weed, pull it up and bring it to your local SWCD, Extension, DNR, or NRCS office and have them identify it and, if it is, how best to control it. Doing nothing about these weeds on your property is actually doing something — it's allowing them to spread to other parts of your property and neighboring properties.
The email was coming, but by the time I got it figured out, I was supposed to be going. To the dentist. With another kid. This time, however, I remembered about the makeup. I was in dire need of imminent application.
The videos of the 2016 World Championship shows most of the women carried Estonian-style, which looked very uncomfortable for the woman, especially when the man is slogging through waist deep water or crawling and leaping over fences and other obstacles.
I am still shocked that my daughter is a grown-up. I thought she’d be a little girl forever. But that is not the case (thank goodness) and now I am soon-to-be the mother of the bride. Except I’m not old enough, not ready enough to be the mother of the bride. At least not in my mind. The numbers would prove otherwise. (How and when did this happen?)
Know your deductible. The latest annual Kaiser Foundation employer health benefits survey indicated some whopping figures for health care deductibles — the out-of-pocket total you have to pay before the bulk of your health coverage kicks in. For example, if you have a $3,000 deductible that you haven't touched this year, that's the initial out-of-pocket amount you're going to have to pay for any big procedure. Keep that figure in mind as you continue your research on medical options.
I’m deciding between Dude and Bro which one makes me more violent. It dawns on me that I’m being a jerk. The guy — my bro, this dude, is just trying to have a little fun on a Tuesday night in a town that’s trying very hard to have something to do on Tuesday nights and succeeding, sort of, compared to 40 years ago when my summer Tuesday nights consisted of my dad dragging the black and white TV out onto the front porch with five extension cords and watching Olga Korbut and, four years later, Nadia Comaneci win Olympic Gold, my dad whispering Blatz whispers about Romania and humming Nadia’s Theme, which was, I think, a rip-off of a contemporary soap opera. Google it.
My kid is doing that. His bike is broken, so he’s been riding mine — a no speed, over-sized, fender-laden mom bike if you’ve ever seen one. He doesn’t care about his lack of fancy wheels because he is having fun. He leaves in the morning and makes a quick pit stop for lunch. His face has developed a warm summer glow. He’s meeting up with friends and finding new ones.
