Cloquet junior Anja Maijala skis in the first leg of the section meet Thursday at Giant’s Ridge. Maijala won the skate-style race, and kept her lead in the classic race that afternoon on her way to taking first place at sections. Boys and girls teams take second in conference meet

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Nordic skiers hosted their one home meet of the year Tuesday at Pine Valley, with sub-zero temperatures for the varsity races. A total of eight boys teams and nine girls teams competed. Cloquet junior Emma Waugh (top left, wearing 144) starts against Ely’s Lilly Beth Nelson.
