Cold knocks out power lines after Christmas
According to Minnesota Power spokesperson Kelley Eldien, power went out Wednesday, Dec. 27 at about 3 a.m. for roughly 2,000 customers. The resulting outage was caused by damage to the lines on the substation in Mahtowa.

Man captured in Carlton County pleads guilty in Michigan
It was a chaotic scene. One deputy fired shots at the suspect vehicle's tires during the chase. Rose also rammed several squad cars and ran at least one off the road, authorities said. Two county squads were damaged enough to require tow trucks.
