“Pastor” Hayden Johnson, son of Erin and Nate, grandson of Doug and Bonnie Suhonen, did a fantastic job the morning of Jan. 28, when he gave the sermon at his church. He is a pretty amazing third-grader.
The Carlton County Historical Society (CCHS) and Museum will be featuring displays and programs each month this year on the 1918 Fire. The next presentation will be Feb. 24 with Glenn Maxham at 1 p.m. If you have a fire story that you would like to share, please let me know or Rachel Martin at the CCHS, 218-879-1938.
The CCHS also has the new “Barns of Carlton County” calendars available at the museum. A couple of the area featured barns were built by Charles and Karen Sedlander in 1930 and by Robert and Althea Dahl in 1950; both are in Eagle Township. Help the Carlton County Historical Society locate and photograph all the barns in Carlton County; call 218-879-1938.
You are invited to a book reception for "Fire Speaks Our Words" at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Historical Society. The reception will include an acknowledgement of your efforts, a book and honorarium presentation and a light reception. Let us know if you will be able to attend.
The Dollars for Scholars Soup Supper took in over $400 to go toward future scholarships. Donations can always be sent to the school.
The women of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church congregation have voted to purchase an AED for the building at the cost of $1,350. It will be installed soon and training sessions will follow.

Monday, Feb. 12 — Yoga at the Cromwell pavilion, 11 a.m. to noon.
Tuesday, Feb. 13 — YOT at the Cromwell Country Inn, noon.
Wednesday, Feb. 14 — Ash Wednesday services at area churches; 7 p.m. at Bethlehem.
Saturday, Feb. 17 — Bingo at the Wright Senior Building, 1-4 p.m.
