Do you feel like you never have enough time? Well, if you remember to turn your clocks back on Sunday, Nov.3, at 2 a.m. or on Saturday night, Nov. 2, you will gain an hour now, but will lose it again in March. Hope you remember or you will be an hour early for church on Sunday.

Pam Linkert, Pat Cain and Linda Lehti attended the LWML fall rally at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora. Pam was a member of Zion in Mora before she joined St. John's.

St. John's Sunday school held their annual Halloween party at the Kachinskes' by going on a ride/walk through the woods with fireworks and a campfire.

Here's some news from Jackie Tuomi in Thornton, Colo.: "I wanted to share that our daughter Jessica (Tuomi) Milinazzo had a baby girl on June 29, 2013. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21 inches long. Her name is Emmie Marie. Recently we flew to Minnesota with Jessica, Franky and Emmie to celebrate with family and friends so they could meet Jessica's new family. It was nice for everyone to meet the new additions. A highlight was being able to take some four-generation photos, including great-grandma Gladys Clark, grandma Jackie Tuomi, daughter Jessica Milinazzo, and her daughter Emmie Marie Milinazzo. People have told David and me how great it was to be a grandparent and now we know. It is pretty great!!!"

Jackie also shared that their daughter Hannah Tuomi is playing professional basketball in Herne, Germany. She left for Germany Aug. 26. The team she is on is the Herner Turner Club. It is a Division I DBBL League Team. If anyone would like to contact her, her e-mail address is

This year's fall activities banquet for all seventh- to 12th-grade football, volleyball and cross country athletes is on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The program will start at 6 p.m. with the awards. Refreshments will be served afterwards. We would appreciate it if the athlete's parents could bring some type of cookie/bar/cake to share for a fellowship time after the awards ceremony. Beverages, plates, napkins and tableware will be provided. The community is encouraged to attend.

Cromwell-Wright students and staff would like to invite all area veterans and service men and women to a flag ceremony and program in their honor on Friday, Nov. 8, at 8:45 a.m. It will begin with a special flag ceremony under the outside flagpole at 8:45 a.m. with a program, coffee and goodies to follow. We would like to take this time to thank you for dedication and service to our country. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone for donating blood. We had 26 people donate blood on Oct. 10, which allowed 78 patients to be helped. Thank you all for the gift of life!

Continue to bring pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House to Cromwell-Wright School. A huge thank-you to the Greg and Jen Anderson family for picking up the tabs and delivering them to the Twin Cities House. Thank you for everyone who collects the pop tabs!

The 2013 Hunter's Supper will again be sponsored by the Cromwell-Wright speech team on Friday, Nov. 8. They are looking for volunteers to help with the dinner. If you are interested in helping, contact Brian Schilling at the school at 218-644-3716 ext. 3000. All proceeds go to the speech team to help cover judging fees, entry fees, scripts and other costs associated with speech meets. Thank you for your support!

The Beehive Community Club will be having their "All You Can Eat" Mojakka Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Adults: $7.50 and 12 and under $5.00. The Beehive Community Club is 7 miles east on County Road 4 from Hwy 73 or 6 miles West from Mahtowa.

The Area Clothing Depot's coat and sweater giveaway dates are: Oct. 31 and Nov. 2. Limit one coat and three sweaters per visit. Also, there is a "Do Not Donate List" on the door at the Depot. Please check the list before donating items. At this time, please NO donations of books until further notice. Thank you!

Coming to Bethany Lutheran in November... Winter Wear Exchange! On Sunday, Nov.3, there will be an opportunity for you to bring in your winter wear (coats, hats, boots, mittens, snow pants) that no longer fit, or you no longer want and find something that works for you. You can drop your items off in the family room at Bethany by Friday, Nov. 1, or bring them that day. Also that day will be baked potato bar, served by the Welcome Committee.

The Cromwell Annual Arts and Craft Sale will be on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the school.

Also, as far as I know the Triad meeting is on Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. The location is to be announced later as the transportation building is booked for that day.
