Marlene Rose Salls

Marlene Rose Salls of Cherokee Village AR passed away after fighting a 6 year heroic battle against metastatic breast cancer on February 6, 2018. She was born on March 16, 1947 in Cloquet Minnesota to Herman and Rachel (Rimstad) Trettel. This was round two with cancer as she successfully fought the disease to a standstill in 1999. Marlene graduated from Cloquet High School in 1965 and then went to work for Conwed and then Potlatch in Cloquet in various support roles and as an Employee Relations Professional. She subsequently worked in human resources, advertising, retail clothing and makeup sales. and as a traveling make up artist for Este Lauder in La Crosse WI. She completed her career as the owner of the Golden Possum Antique Shop in La Crosse, WI. In retirement, she discovered that she had talent for and enjoyed making clay sculptures, creating four award winning pieces. She is survived by her daughter Kelly Wait and her husband Bob and was pre-deceased by her parents and brother Terry. Memorial services and burial will be scheduled at a later date.
