Bernard Leo "Bunny" Gamache

Bernard Leo "Bunny" Gamache, 91, of Cloquet, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 10, 1926 in Cloquet to Adolphus and Bernadine Gamache.

Bunny served in the Navy as a cook on a ship for four years during WWII. He was employed at Potlatch for 42 years. Bunny was a member of Queen of Peace Church, Eagles and the Cloquet American Legion. He was in a Barber Shop Quartet and loved to dance, fish, hunt and go camping. Bunny was a snowbird, wintering in Phoenix, AZ for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bunny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Gloria; daughter, Kathleen Petersen; grandson, Zachary Gamache; and sister, June Trettle. He is survived by his children, Beverly (David) Mattice of Bloomington, Nancy (Larry) Johnson of Carlton, James (Wendy) Gamache of Esko, Wendy (Dennis) Hedin of Hayward, WI, and Debbie (Greg) Mattson of Esko; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; his twin sister, Cleo Evenson of Grand Rapids; and son-in-law, Larry Petersen of Payson, AZ.

Visitation will be from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service, Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Burial will be in Old Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet. To leave an online tribute, see www.atkinsnorthlandfuneralhome.com.
