Joseph Ferdinand Poellinger

Joseph Ferdinand Poellinger, 84, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. He was born Sept. 25, 1932 in Huron, S.D., to Joseph and Mary (Auburger) Poellinger. Joe graduated from St. Paul Central High School and the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Joe was united in marriage to Patricia (Chamberlain) Nemec on Dec. 10, 1974. He was a past director of the Duluth Engineers Club, past treasure of the Instrument Society of America, Minnesota Alumni Association, past president and secretary of the Grand Lake Improvement Association, and a member of Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979 of Cloquet and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two children, Kevin (Lynn) Nemec and Andrea (Paul) Plucinak; two grandchildren, Brandon Nemec and Kyle Plucinak; one sister, Theresa Peterson; and several nieces and nephews

Visitation: Wednesday, March 22, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet, with interment service at New Calvary Cemetery, with military honors presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard, followed by a luncheon and time of fellowship in the church social hall.
