Lewis Robert Klejeski

Lewis Robert Klejeski, 91, of Cloquet, Minn., entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017. He was born Aug. 2, 1925 in Split Rock Township to Felix and Ida Klejeski. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Feb. 9, 1952 Lewis married Alice Ostoff in Cloquet. He worked as a pipefitter/machinist for Northwest Paper and Potlatch for 32 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to working at Potlatch he had several other productive jobs in the community.

Lewis was a proud member of St. Casimir's Polish Catholic Church until it closed. He was a current member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Potlatch Quarter Century Club, Knights of Columbus, Franciscan Friars, American Legion and VFW.

Lewis enjoyed vegetable gardening and hunting with his kids, brothers, nephews and grandkids.

Lewis was preceded in death by his son, Gerald, in 1973; wife, Alice, in 2010; and 10 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Paul (Tammy) of Esko, Minn.; daughters, Yvonne (Kevin) Mannschreck of Hooper, Neb., Deb Klejeski of Cloquet and Teresa (Jerry Young) Klejeski of Autumba; four grandchildren, Shawn (Jacki) Aho, Kayne Klejeski, Derek Klejeski and Jorden Klejeski; and two great-grandchildren, Vance Aho and Carly Aho.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Lighthouse/New Perspective for their exceptional care and compassion given to Lewis.

Visitation: Friday, Feb. 17, from 5-7:30 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet, and Saturday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet, with burial in New Calvary Cemetery and military honors accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
