Pedestrian killed in Cloquet crash
A 66-year-old Cloquet woman died Sunday after she was hit by a vehicle.
Cloquet authorities responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of 20th Street and Washington Avenue just after 9 a.m., the Cloquet Police Department said in a news release. An off-duty Cloquet firefighter performed CPR on the victim, but the woman died from her injuries, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 79-year-old woman from Cloquet, and her passenger were not injured. Police had not identified any of the people involved in the crash as of Sunday evening. The police department and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the incident, and toxicology results are pending.
The Cloquet Area Fire District assisted at the scene.
