A bigger and better Wood City Music Festival rocked Cloquet on Saturday with perfect weather, according to Lee Harris, one of the festival organizers.

“It was a phenomenal weekend,” a jubilant Harris said, adding that it was the biggest and smoothest festival thus far. “We had roughly 8,000 to 9000 people throughout the day. The response was tremendous.”

Twelve bands — representing a large spectrum of genres in Christian music, including rock, pop, EDM, rap, worship, gospel, southern rock, punk-pop, and alternative-pop —  played on two different stages at Cloquet’s Veterans Park from just before noon to 10 p.m., and a special children’s area was packed most of the day.

“We had all age groups enjoying the festival all day,” Harris said. “It is a blessing to see Cloquet become a destination spot in the summer. I've got more ideas for this city!”

Harris is part of Kingdom Builders Ministries, the non-profit group behind the festival, which celebrated its fourth year on Saturday.
