Cloquet School Board to discuss tax levy today
The Cloquet School Board will hold a special school board working session at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 10) to review the voter-approved portion of the school tax levy on the recent property taxes and the alleged discrepancy with previous estimates. The meeting, which is not a public hearing, is open to the public (to listen) and will take place in the Garfield School Board Room at the corner of Carlton Avenue and 14th Street. The work session comes in advance of the school district’s Truth in Taxation public hearing, set for Dec. 14, which is a public hearing.
Cloquet Schools Superintendent Ken Scarbrough said Thursday’s meeting will be working session, basically with questions from the board and answers from Cloquet School District business manager Candace Nelis and Cathy Erickson from the Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium (ARCC), which offers financial services to school districts in NE Minnesota.
