Cloquet Senior High School Business Department announces Alma Warren has been chosen “Business Student of the Month” for December. Students who apply for this award are chosen based on their activities, work experience, business courses, grades earned, a letter of recommendation, and an essay written by the student.
Warren, a junior at CHS, is “a bright, ambitious, outgoing young woman who is very involved in her school and community,” according to a spokesman for the CHS Business Department.
Beyond her high achieving academics, Warren is involved in Mock Trial, Upward Bound Leadership Program, student council, girls tennis team, spring play, and is the editor of the high school newspaper. Warren volunteers much of her time to serving the community through Feed My Starving Children, Duluth Food Drive, Duluth Backpack Project, aiding and maintaining the Boulder Lake camping sites and hiking trails, and setting up Bentleyville City of Lights. One of her teachers stated, “Alma can remain present to expressions of opinions that differ from her own and is a genuine ‘people-person.’”
A senior student chosen as “Business Student of the Month” will also be eligible for the Stowell Family Scholarship to be awarded in May.
