Carlton County authorities seeking driver who hit bicyclist near Esko
Carlton County authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run collision with a bicyclist Sunday morning in Thomson Township.
According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at about 11 a.m. Sunday at the corner of county Highway 61 and Rolling Road, near Esko. The vehicle did not stop after hitting the bicyclist and continued eastbound on Highway 61.
The victim, a 43-year-old Minneapolis man, was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's hospital in Duluth. There was no word on his condition Sunday night.
The driver is described as an elderly woman. Witnesses described the car as a Chevrolet Impala or Malibu, grey or silver in color, with heavy damage to the roof and windshield.
